Synteract is to hire up to 30 additional staff by the end of 2011 to work at its recently expanded site in Research Triangle Park (RTP), North Carolina, US.

Expanding the RTP site will help San Diego-based Synteract better support clients on the East Coast. Now, having added 11,000 sq ft of office space in the Concourse Lakeside II building at RTP, tripling its administrative footprint, Synteract is hiring to fill up to 30 positions.

Our West Coast clients know us for our character, integrity, and responsiveness and we plan to manage our East Coast operations in the same manner”, said Ellen Morgan, CEO of Synteract.

Synteract plans to complete hiring by the end of 2011. To fulfil this task Synteract is looking to hire local people with programming, scientific or clinical research expertise in the areas of project management, clinical operations, biostatistics, and data management.

Addition of up to 30 employees marks a significant expansion of Synteract’s operations in RTP. Synteract established a presence in RTP in 2007 and the office now employs 14 people. The Synteract website lists five vacancies at RTP, although some of these were posted months ago.

15 years as a CRO

Expansion in RTP comes as Synteract celebrates its 15th year as a contract research organisation (CRO). Founded in San Diego in 1995 the company has added sites in RTP and Prague, Czech Republic in recent years, increasing staffing to more than 300 employees.

To support expansion and globalisation Synteract joined Medidata Solutions’ ASPire to Win partner programme earlier this year. Joining the programme allows Synteract to offer electronic data management (EDC) and clinical data management (CDM) services around Medidata Rave.

Morgan said: “Rave’s flexibility, scalable performance and broad EDC and CDM capabilities will enable us to help our customers further streamline their clinical research operations both internationally and domestically.”
