Appointments at Aqua Pharmaceuticals, Algeta ASA and Amarin – People on the move

in-PharmaTechnologist presents its latest round up of movements in the pharma sector, including appointments at Aqua Pharmaceuticals, Algeta ASA and Amarin.

Aqua Pharmaceuticals​ has appointed Skip Williams ​as executive director of product development. Williams joins from Watson Pharmaceuticals, where he worked since 2004, and has also worked at Lexis-Nexis Martindale Hubbell, System Software Associates and Accenture.

Lars Abrahmsén​ has joined Algeta ASA ​as senior vice president (SVP), protein therapeutics. Before joining Algeta Abrahmsén worked at Affibody AB, Genentech and Pharmacia.

Amarin​ has named Joseph Zakrzewski​ as CEO. Zakrzewski has worked in pharma for more than 20 years, including time at GlaxoSmithKline, Xcellerex, ViaCell and Abiomed. Also, Frederick Ahlholm, VP of finance at Amarin, has been appointed principal accounting officer.

Gregory Swanberg​ has been hired by BioStorage Technologies ​to serve as its CEO. Swanberg replaces company co-founder John Mills ​who remains as chairman of the board. Before joining BioStorage Swanberg worked at Pfizer, Merck, Genentech, Novartis and Eli Lilly.

Logistics service provider Longistics​ has promoted Berry Petty Jr​ to the positions of VP and general manager of the transportation division. Petty joined Longistics in 1998 and previously worked as a controller.

David Gryska ​has been elected to the board of directors at Hyperion Therapeutics​. Gryska last worked as SVP of Celgene and has also held positions at Scios and Ernst & Young.

Infinity Pharmaceuticals​ has appointed Pedro Santabarbara​ as chief medical officer and Elizabeth Trehu​ as VP, product development and medical affairs. Santabarbara worked at PharmaMar​for the past five years and Trehu joins after working at Genzyme for four years.
