Appointments at PharmaNet, PPD, BASi and WorldCare Clinical – People on the move

Outsourcing-Pharma presents its latest round up of movements in the pharma outsourcing sector, including appointments at PharmaNet, PPD, BASi and WorldCare Clinical.

PharmaNet ​has named Chris Beaver​ as director, immunochemistry services. Beaver will be responsible for expanding large molecule services provided by the bioanalytical laboratories. Before joining PharmaNet Beaver worked on ligand binding at MDS Pharma Services.

Elena Logan ​has joined PPD​ as president of global central labs. Logan has worked in pharma and contract research for 24 years, including time at ACM Global Central Laboratory, Premier Research and Bristol-Myers Squibb.

BASi​ has made several appointments to expand its business development efforts. Omar Lamm​, has left Xcelience to become business development manager for the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast region of the US at BASi.

Mahnaz Shamsai​, formerly of Toxikon, is now business development manager for the Southwest region of the US at BASi. Finally, Debra Gosling​ will take responsibility for the Northwest of the US having previously worked at Roche Diagnostics, Covance and Thomson Reuters.

BASi has also named Sue Scott ​as marketing communications manager. Scott has 20 years of media experience, including 14 years as a news anchor, reporter and assignment editor at WLFI-TV.

WorldCare Clinical​ has hired Xiaozhou Ma​ as associate director of quantification and 3D imaging. Ma has previously worked as an imaging fellow at the Tumor Imaging Metrics Core. Making the appointment will help WorldCare expand oncology and central nervous services.

Klaus Besier​ has been elected to the board of directors at ERT​. Besier has worked for 30 years at software technology companies, including SAP America, Firepond and Neoware.

unithink ​has appointed John Cline​ as CEO. Cline was a founder and CEO of etrials and has also worked at National Clinical Research, Organon, MiniDoc and Expidata.

Howard Moody​ has been named as chief information officer at WIL Research​. Moody has previously worked at MDS Pharma Services and Covance. Also, Alan Findlater ​has joined as chief commercial officer having previously worked at Covance and Johnson & Johnson.
