Leadership changes at PPD and Kendle – People on the move

Outsourcing-Pharma presents its latest round up of movements in the pharma outsourcing sector, including leadership changes at PPD and Kendle.

Kendle​ has promoted Stephen Cutler​ to president and CEO. Cutler succeeds Candace Kendle ​who continues as chairman. Jamie Macdonald​ has been hired to fill the positions of senior vice president (SVP) and chief operating officer vacated by promotion of Cutler.

Also, Christopher Bergen​ is to step down as EVP and chief administrative officer but will remain on the board of directors at Kendle. All the changes are effective from May 1.

David Grange​ is to retire as CEO and member of the board of PPD ​in May. Grange joined the PPD board as an independent director in 2003 before becoming CEO in 2009. PPD will initiate an internal and external search for successor. Grange will consult PPD throughout 2011.

INC Research​ has bolstered its Indian operations with two appointments. Shabbir Rangwala​, formerly of Eli Lilly, has joined as executive director, global services and site head, and Sunil Garg​, who last worked at SIRO Clinpharm, is the new senior manager, clinical operations.

Sue Robinson ​has been named as director of patient recruitment at Premier Research​. Robinson has previously worked at Kendle and Bios Clinical Research Organisation.

NextPharma​ has appointed Brigitte Genard​ as quality director at its site in Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium. Genard has vaccine and biologics production experience from working at GlaxoSmithKline and UCB.

Brandon Griffin​ has joined Advantar Labs​ as VP of sales and marketing. Griffin has previously worked at RohnerChem, Analytical Bio-Chemistry Laboratories and Irvine Pharmaceutical Services.

Pharm-Olam ​has named Connie Andrews ​as VP of global services. Andrews has worked at a number of biopharm and service providers, including Pfizer, MedImmune, Quintiles, ClinOps and Omnicare.

Sean McCrossen​ has been added to the team of consultants at Pharmaceutical Development Services ​(PDS​). McCrossen has been hired to add chemistry and manufacturing control (CMC) regulatory dossier rectification expertise to PDS.

Clinilabs ​has appointed Stephen Murray​ as chief medical officer. Murray worked at Janssen Pharmaceuticals and Pfizer before serving as chief medical officer at several biotech companies.
