Appointments at Gentium, Endo Pharmaceuticals and American Peptide Company – People on the move

in-PharmaTechnologist presents its latest round up of movements in the pharma sector, including appointments at Gentium, Endo Pharmaceuticals and American Peptide Company.

Metrics​ has hired David Varley​ as director of manufacturing operations. Varley has 30 years of pharmaceutical manufacturing experience from working at Burroughs Wellcome, Glaxo Wellcome, ER Squibb, Purdue Pharmaceuticals, and, most recently, BioDelivery Sciences.

Adrian Haigh​ has been appointed senior vice president (SVP), commercial operations at Gentium​. Haigh has worked at Biogen Idec, Amgen, SmithKline Beecham and Schering Plough during his 28 years in the biopharm industry.

American Peptide Company ​has named John McKinley ​as senior marketing manager. McKinley joins from Bachem and has a genetics degree from University of California, Berkeley.

David Nash​ has joined the board of directors at Endo Pharmaceuticals​. Nash is the founding dean of the Jefferson School of Population Health and also serves on the board of directors at Humana.

Adeona Pharmaceuticals​ has hired George Brewer​ as SVP of research and development. Brewer has worked as chairman and on the scientific advisory board for seven years.

Michael Ball​ has been elected CEO of Hospira​, succeeding Christopher Begley who will take the role of executive chairman. Ball is currentlty president of Allergan where he has worked for 16 years. David Pyott has been reappointed president of Allergan and will continue as chairman and CEO.

Jason Kolbert​ has joined NeoStem ​as VP of strategic businesses development. Kolbert has worked as an analyst on Wall Street for the past 16 years, having previously held positions at Schering-Plough.
