Boehringer Ingelheim boosts fill/finish capacity

Biopharmaceuticals giant Boehringer Ingelheim has extended its capacities and capabilities in fill and finish with a new line.

The German firm can now fill up to 110,000 vials and 100,000 carpoules, or liquid containing drug cartridges, per batch in a move that is the latest step in its efforts to become a “one stop shop​” for contract development and manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals.

Simon Sturge, Corporate Senior Vice President Biopharmaceuticals, said: “As a leader in its field, Boehringer Ingelheim has supported pharmaceutical companies in the successful launch of many biological drugs.

I believe that this further expansion will benefit our customers by receiving high quality drug substance and drug product from one source with very convenient applications which bring an even higher benefit for the customer.​"
