Onyx Scientific aims for growth in US CMO sector
Ipca Laboratories has added scale to the Phase II support services offered by recent acquisition Onyx Scientific in a bid to build in the US contract manufacturing sector.
The Indian active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) maker is integrating UK-based Onyx into to its contract manufacturing arm Covenance and plans to showcase the combined organization at the Pharma ChemOutsourcing show in New Jersey later this month.
Onyx CEO Tony Flinn set out how the integrated offering will work, explaining that: “Through our UK labs, we can execute early stage programs such as lead optimisation, custom synthesis, process development and small scale GMP manufacturing.
“We can then internally technology-transfer the process to our India based locations and scale-up to Phase II/III and commercial production to offer customers the best of both worlds.”
