DHL has obtained a license for packaging, labelling and storing medical devices at its logistics site in Tokyo, Japan.

Being granted the license allows DHL to expand its service offering beyond distribution and into the packaging and labelling of medical devices. DHL claims that by outsourcing these activities companies can end the need to manage pre-inspection inventory at plants and approved products in storage.

The recent acquisition of this license is a huge step forward for us to expand DHL’s services to healthcare industry”, Shuichi Kawamura, president of DHL Supply Chain Japan, said. To get the license DHL opened added a temperature controlled area to its Tokyo site.
