Current methods used to determine if stainless steel manufacturing units are non-reactive – or passive – are based on complex chemical techniques developed 100 years ago which are not practical for a modern pharmaceutical firm according company president Wolf Koslow.
He explained that his firm’s new solution – the Passi-flash 3036 – is designed to make this type of analysis faster, easier and help manufacturers avoid contamination caused by particles that may be present on steel surfaces in production lines.
“Well it [Passi-flash] can let them know if their equipment is passive…or if there is free iron contamination that can lead to corrosion.”
