Koslow launches hand-held passivation testing tech

A new hand-held testing device can help drugmakers determine if their stainless steel tech is prone to corrosion according to developer Koslow Scientific.

Current methods used to determine if stainless steel manufacturing units are non-reactive – or passive – are based on complex chemical techniques developed 100 years ago which are not practical for a modern pharmaceutical firm according company president Wolf Koslow.

He explained that his firm’s new solution – the Passi-flash 3036 – is designed to make this type of analysis faster, easier and help manufacturers avoid contamination caused by particles that may be present on steel surfaces in production lines.

Well it [Passi-flash] can let them know if their equipment is passive…or if there is free iron contamination that can lead to corrosion.
