AmerisourceBergen has inked an $18.5bn deal to supply brand pharmaceuticals for Express Scripts' new mail order service.

The contract – which will last for three years – is expected to account for more than 20 per cent of the firm’s revenues, and three per cent of earnings per share (EPS).

Under the agreement, Amerisource will distribution pharmaceuticals to the newly combined mail-order and specialty pharmacy businesses of legacy Express Scripts and Medco Health Solutions.

"We are honoured that Express Scripts has chosen AmerisourceBergen to supply the brand pharmaceuticals it needs for its recently combined mail order and specialty pharmacy business," said Steven Collis, AmerisourceBergen president and CEO.
