News from INC Research, Elsevier and Invetech – People on the move

Outsourcing-Pharma.com presents its weekly round-up of the latest movers and shakers in the world of pharmaceuticals, including news from INC Research, Elsevier and Invetech.

INC Research ​has named Jamie Macdonald​ as its next president and CEO.

Currently the firm’s COO, Macdonald will replace current CEO James Ogle​, who will continue in his secondary role as chairman.

Ogle said: “With integration behind us and INC Research solidly positioned for the future as a top-tier CRO, now is the time for me to transition away from the day-to-day leadership of the company and into the role of chairman.”

Macdonald added that he looks forward to driving new strategic deals for the firm under the new growth plans.

Elsevier/ MEDai ​has appointed Peter Edelstein​ as chief medical offer and Gerald Osband ​as director of product strategy.

Edelstein joins the firm from Adventist Health Systems where he was physician executive. Osband was previously VP of product managment and clinical strategies at The TriZetto Group.

Thomas Zajac, president said: "Having spent their careers working in healthcare, their insight and expertise will significantly elevate our ability to deliver actionable, personalized and predictive analytic solutions."

Invetech​ has drafted in Colin White​ as its new president.

He joins the firm after serving in the same role for Leica BioSystems Advanced Staining Systems.

Of his new role, he said: "Invetech has a tremendous track record in developing new products that exceed our client's expectations in quality and time to market. With the support of our talented team I am excited about growing the business further."

Nicholas Valeriani​ has been named CEO of the West Health group.

He joins the institute – which works to lower costs in research, policy and innovation – following a 34-year career at Johnson & Johnson (J&J).

Valeriani said: "West Health and its four entities have tremendous potential to lower the cost of health care, and I'm excited to direct this effort."

AbelsonTaylor ​has hired Tony Adams ​as head of interactive technology.

Current interactive developers Chris Mauck​ and Jeff Borders ​will also receive new roles within the healthcare ad agency as senior interactive developer.
