Onyx Scientific has appointed Dan Brisard its new business development director for the East Coast of the US.
The contract manufacturing organisation (CMO) hopes the appointment will help drive its growth in America after receiving an influx of demand from States-based customers.
Denise Bowser, commercial director at Onyx Scientific, said: “At the request of our customers, we have really looked to expand our offering over the last year to minimise the need for clients to use several suppliers on the same project. Dan will play a key role in communicating the breadth of our services in addition to our track record and achievements to the US market.”
Brisard joins the firm from Aptuit, where he was senior account manager.
Healthcare ad agency AbelsonTaylor has promoted Erich Voigt to the role of senior art director and Steph Krout as art director.
Previously art director, Voigt will continue to work on campaigns in the fields of hypertension, dyslipidemia and leukemia amongst others.
Krout – formerly associate art director – will work with products for lupus and endometriosis.
Pacific Biomarkers (PBI) has named Maribeth Raines its new VP of laboratory services.
She joins the biomarker services company from Quest Diagnostics Clinical Trials where she was director of scientific affairs.
In her new role she will take charge of scientific leadership and technical support for Pacific’s research and development (R&D) programmes.
Michael Murphy, COO, said: "We look forward to Dr. Raines's leadership and insights as we expand into new areas while continuing to build on our ability to support drug development for our growing number of clients."
Rx&D has drafted in Janssen president Chris Halyk as chairman.
As part of his new role, he will help the association – made up of Canadian pharma research establishments – to drive its new and upcoming campaigns.
Of the recent ‘Saving Lives - Transforming Care’ programme, Halyk said: "The campaign highlights the benefits of innovative medicines that will make people's lives better. As chair of the board, I look forward to sustaining our industry's focus on this goal."
Richard Bendure has joined Balchem Corporation as COO.
He joins the microencapsulation solutions specialist from Nalco Company, where he was VP of water process services in the Americas.

FingerPaint Marketing has hired Lindsay Montesano, Bryan O’Malley and Erica Karras to its service teams.
Montesano joins from Albany Medical Center, where she was a marketing specialist. She joins the account service team to work with clients on marketing and advertising schemes.
O’Malley will work on digital and mobile application development, whilst Karras will become a writer.
