Optibrium
Optibrium, a company in Cambridge which provides drug discovery software, has appointed Peter Hunt Director of Computational Chemistry.
Hunt joins the company from Novartis, where he led Computer Aided Drug Discovery (CADD). He previously held the same position at Merck and the 3D Centre in Australia.
Peter will help lead research related to Optibrium’s involvement in the EU HeCaToS (Hepatic and Cardiac Toxicity Systems modelling) project, as well as its lead software, StarDrop.
Hunt’s hire is part of a greater growth drive from the independent company, including recent expansions to its R&D and operational teams, and a 50% extension to its facilities. Optibrium recently extended its product portfolio with Asteris, an iPad app that lets researchers evaluate new compound ideas.
