Patricia LoRusso, an expert on the development of cancer drugs has been appointed Professor of Medicine and Associate Director of Innovative Medicine at Yale Cancer Center.
LoRusso previously held several senior positions at Wayne State University’s Barbara Karmanos Cancer Institute, including leading its Phase 1 clinical trials programme and heading the Eisenberg Center for Experimental Therapeutics.
She has served as co-chair of the National Cancer Institute’s Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program Investigational Drug Steering Committee and on the scientific and education committees of the American Association for Cancer Research.
Thomas Lynch, director of Yale Cancer Center, described LoRusso as “a pre-eminent leader in early phase drug development, and she joins the cancer center at a time during which we have committed to accelerating the process of getting new drugs to patients.”
