Medidata
Medidata, a company providing cloud-based data services for clinical developers, has appointed Michael Capone as Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Garen Sarafian, Vice President of market analyst firm Citi Research, told Outsourcing-Pharma.com “Capone has a strong reputation as a thoughtful and articulate senior executive, and a good fit given his previous experience in the cloud/data that should transition well into the daily operations of Medidata’s SaaS [software as a service]-based business model.”
Capone joins the company from human capital management firm ADP, where he was Corporate Vice President of Product Development and Chief Information Officer.
Sarafian told us he thinks highly of Medidata’s senior management team, and “having a well-regarded former CIO of a Fortune 500 company (#243) as its COO” will reassure clients.
He added that Capone may well leverage his experience in transitioning ADP’s products to a cloud or SaaS-based model when he moves to Medidata on October 1.
