Parkinson’s UK
The British charity Parkinson’s UK has appointed industry expert Arthur Roach as Director of R&D. He will oversee the organisation’s growing research programme, which currently totals £20m ($32m) and spans 90 research projects in the UK and internationally.
He will be in charge of collaboration between researchers, companies, doctors and Parkinson's sufferers.
Roach has directed Parkinson’s research for over 25 years, in universities, hospitals and pharma companies, including Chord Therapeutics and Merck Serono.
He commented, “With recent breakthroughs in genetics, I believe we're on the cusp of finally finding ways to slow or stop the progression of Parkinson's, something which no current treatment can do."
