PEOPLE ON THE MOVE
Ximbio
Ximbio, a company which sells reagents to life science companies for research, has made two new hires, one from Merck Millipore.
Hugh Spotswood has joined as Senior Business Manager, and Emily Haggerty as a Scientific Portfolio Associate.
Spotswood was a Business Development Manager at Merck Millipore, where he was in charge of finding and in-licensing research tools. He has also worked at Orchid Biosciences and Abcam.
Haggerty studied Biochemistry at Imperial College before interning in the technology transfer team within Imperial Innovations. She is now part of the Scientific Portfolio team which sources reagents.
Reagents are substances which create a chemical reaction. Unlike catalysts, they are consumed by the reaction. Ximbio grew out of Cancer Research Technology (CRT), the development and commercialisation arm of Cancer Research UK.
Researchers can use the company to virtually search for reagents, cite sources, and share research.
