IGBA
The International Generic Pharmaceutical Alliance has changed its name to the International Generic and Biosimilar Medicines Association (IGBA) and replaced its chair with Vivian Fritelli, CEO of South Africa’s National Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (NAPM).
Fritelli has been a member of the IGBA management committee for the past three years and takes over as chair from Jim Keon.
IGBA’s member associations are the EGA (Europe), the CGPA (Canada), the GPhA (USA), the JAPM (Jordan), the NAPM (South Africa), the TGPA (Taiwan) and the JGA (Japan). Australia’sGBMA, Brazil’s ProGenericos and AMEGI in Mexico are associate members.
The IGBA plans to register as an association in Geneva, Switzerland to strengthen links with the World Trade Organization (WTO), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
