Building muscle

Eli Lilly’s rodent research project (Rodent Research-3) is focused on assessing the ability of a novel compound to prevent skeletal muscle wasting in mice exposed to long-duration spaceflight.
“If you’re running an animal study … those animals are working against gravity,” said Kenneth Savin, PhD, Advisor, Clinical Innovation, Eli Lilly, last week at BIO International, “So you can’t always say that the drug is building the muscle.”
