Enrolling patients and keeping them: electronic patient recruitment companies collaborate
“Combining the two platforms augments the results, as one reinforces another for improved overall efficiency and reduced site burden,” Ulf Claesson, Clinerion CEO, told Outsourcing-Pharma.com
The two platforms include Clinerion’s Patient Recruitment System (PRS), which accelerates clinical trial patient recruitment by searching through patient medical records in real-time; and eClinicalHealth’s Clinpal platform, an electronic platform with direct patient facing web solutions and workflows that guide the patient and the site through the process.
As to why the companies decided to collaborate, Claesson told us that the companies realized they were speaking with many of the same people, including clinical trial sponsors and hospitals.
“Investigators were asking Clinerion – ‘you are helping us bring the patients into a study. But can you also help us keep them there?’ The fit was natural,” he added. “And we could see that the one bringing forward the services of the other would only increase the breadth of service offer for both of us.”
According to Claesson, there are “activities afoot” to make more hospitals and individuals “Clinpal enabled” through the company’s Clinpal awareness training program. Collaboration details and scope of activities will be outlined more within the next few weeks.
