Ashfield, a provider of outsourced healthcare services to pharmaceutical, device, and biotech companies, has announced a new international initiative, Ashfield Cares.

The initiative was formed from a recently launched employee engagement program called the Ashfield Way. The new initiative will work to support various charities and programs through fundraising, time, and skills.

"Historically we had a localized approach to supporting charities and communities aligned with our individual operating offices," Chris Corbin, Ashfield CEO told Outsourcing-Pharma.com. "In the UK headquarters, we had a very successful Worthy Causes Fund that raised a significant amount of money for charity each year. Ashfield Cares is the next logical step on for the organisation. It aligns our international growth by bringing us all together under one global umbrella but still allowing us to give back to our local communities."

Ashfield Cares specifically aims to support both charitable and non-charitable causes and will assist organizations by addressing healthcare, community development, and educational needs.

"Ashfield Cares will engage all our employees through local committees so that they can take part in charitable activities supporting their communities," added Corbin.

Employees will be represented as part of Ashfield Cares committees across the organization on either a business unit or site basis.
