The acquisition, which was announced in June of this year, has been completed, expanding the company’s reach into government sponsored research.

As Outsourcing-Pharma.com previously reported, the acquisition of Clinical Research Management, Inc. (ClinicalRM) expands Icon’s presence in the government sponsored research market.

The announcement secures a new line of customers for the company and extends its capabilities in the areas of vaccines and infectious disease.

Commenting on the completed acquisition, ICON’s CEO, Ciaran Murray said, “ClinicalRM has a strong track record of partnering successfully with government agencies and NGOs.”

Murray added that the company will provide a platform for Icon to further penetrate this market segment as the company works to grow and diversify its customer base.

ClinicalRM’s work in the area of global vaccine development will further enhance our capabilities in this important area to the benefit of customers and patients globally,” he said in the company's press release published this morning.

Icon did not respond to a request for additional comment.
