Sean George transitions to CEO of Invitae
Sean George, Ph.D., its Co-Founder and current President and Chief Operating Officer, has been named Chief Executive Officer for Invitae.
Invitae provides genetic diagnostics for a range of indications has created a Genome Network to connect patients, clinicians, advocacy organizations, researchers, and drug developers to accelerate the diagnosis and treatment of hereditary disease.
Prior to co-founding Invitae in 2012 (formerly Locus Development), George has also served as COO of Navigenics, one of the early personal genomics companies, as well as in various leadership roles at Affymetrix and Invitrogen.
The firm’s current Chairman and CEO, Randy Scott, will instead move to become Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Invitae.
