Founder of Aurinia Richard Glickman transitioned to CEO

Aurinia Pharmaceutcials Inc. has promoted its founder and Chairman of the board, Richard Glickman, to the position of CEO and accepted the resignation of Charles Rowland.

Victoria, Canada-based Aurinia is developing the small molecule immuno-suppressant voclosporin, for the treatment of lupus nephritis (LN), a renal complication of systemic lupus erythematosus.

Richard co-founded, chaired and was CEO of LN-focused Aspreva Pharmaceuticals Corp., which was acquired in 2008 by Galenica Ltd. for almost $1Bn.

He is also currently founding Chairman of Essa Pharmaceuticals Inc., Chairman of the Board of Engene Corporation and a Director of Cardiome Pharma.

In addition, Richard is member of the Canadian federal government’s National Biotechnology Advisory Committee, Director of the Canadian Genetic Disease Network, Chairman of Life Sciences B.C. and a member of the British Columbia Innovation Council.
