Marken’s new call center enhances the company's home service by allowing patients to contact a specialist to schedule a pick-up or delivery.
The specialists at the center are trained for each clinical protocol are able to provide instructions to Marken operators and drivers on a case-by-case basis.
The set up of the 'Patient Interaction Center was mainly driven by sponsor demand to allow patients direct access to Marken 24 hours a day, Christine Noble, a spokesperson for Marken told us, “so the reception from both sponsors and patients has been positive,” she said.
“As clinical research moves forward, patients will continue to need and demand innovative solutions and the industry will need to continue to evolve to meet the fast-paced evolution of research,” added Noble.
“Patient treatment at home will be a key trend which will continue and we expect that most of the trials will have home treatment as an integrated part of each study. Big data, adaptive trial design, and wearables will continue to grow in importance as well in clinical research and trials.”
