CMO Tubilux Pharma has selected TraceLink to manage its supply chain security.

The Rome, Italy-based contract manufacturing organisation (CMO) has a focus on eye medicines, and makes products including ointments, gels and eye drops at its facility in Pomezia.

According to a Tubilux spokesperson, signing with one service provider facilitated the track & trace adoption process.

“With over 30 clients, we could not afford to lose time and resources by establishing individual point-to-point connections with each customer,” said the spokesperson.

Impending deadlines

The deal comes 18 months before track & trace legislation introduced under the EU Falsified Medicines Directive (FMD) comes into effect in most EU member states.

The exceptions are Belgium, Greece and Italy, which have been granted until February 9, 2025 to implement the legislation on the basis that they have pre-existing verification and identification systems.
