Berkeley Lights: James Rothman
Berkeley Lights has formed a strategic scientific advisory board (SSAB) made up of industry experts James Rothman, Peter Ehrenheim, Igor Khandros, Richard Lerner and Stephen Minger.
Rothman – who is an independent director of Berkeley Lights, and will chair the SSAB – is currently Sterling Professor and chair of Cell Biology at Yale University, and previously held the position of chief scientist, GE Healthcare.
The firm said the SSAB “serves as a strategic resource for Berkeley Lights as it continues to build out its product portfolio in the areas of drug discovery and development, and cell therapy manufacturing.”
CEO Eric Hobbs said Berkeley Lights is facing an exciting growth phase as it introduces the Beacon – its biological workflow platform used by Teva Pharmaceuticals Australia and Bayer to develop antibody therapies.
“In building our SSAB, we sought out renowned experts whose deep domain knowledge and insight can help guide our company roadmap,” said Hobbs.
