Ashfield
Ashfield US, part of UDG Healthcare plc, has hired two senior executive to create a new medical affairs business unit.
According to the company, creation of the business new unit is part of its five-year growth plan to provide clients services across the entire healthcare value chain.
The new business unit will combine Ashfield’s existing Medical Information, Pharmacovigilance and Medical Science Liaison services.
Amy Van Sant (image left) has been named president of the Medical Affairs unit and Lee Ann Chaiken as senior vice president of Ashfield’s pharmacovigilance business.
In this new role, Van Sant will focus on raising awareness of the company’s medical affairs offerings. She was most recently director, regulatory advertising & promotion for the pharmaceutical sector within the Johnson & Johnson Health Care Compliance & Privacy Organization.
As senior vice president of Ashfield’s Pharmacovigilance unit, Chaiken will report directly to Van Sant. Previously, Chaiken was the senior director of IT implementation Services at IQVIA.
