Syneos to lay off 98 amid changing business needs

Syneos Health will be reducing operations at its Indianapolis, IN-based facility following ‘shifting customer needs,’ says spokesperson.

In a letter to the Indiana Department of Workforce development, Dislocated Worker Unit, inVentiv Health, Inc. (a Syneos Health group company) announced that it will be reducing its workforce at its Indianapolis, IN-based facility.

Per the letter​ – addressed May 30, 2018 – “changing business needs”​ require the company to reduce operations at the facility. Sixty days notice was given to employees on June 1st​ and terminations are expected to begin “on or about”​ July 31, 2018, continuing through August 14, 2018.

Ninety-eight employees will be affected by the workforce reduction.

“We value transparency with our employees. With that in mind, we proactively communicated with a sub-set of employees about potential changes to their jobs based on shifting customer needs,”​ a Syneos Health spokesperson told us in a statement.

“The decision to make such business changes is never easy, and we’re actively evaluating the potential to redeploy these employees on other customer engagements.”

The spokesperson said the company remains committed to providing its contract research organization (CRO) services in Indiana.
