The Scientist.com and HealthEconomics.com partnership connects real-world evidence (RWE) and health economic outcomes research (HEOR) sponsors and providers to help democratize pharmaceutical research, says company exec.

The online marketplace for outsourced research Scientist.com has partnered with HealthEconomics.com, which connects HEOR, RWE, and pharma market access to various stakeholder communities.

“This partnership is contributing to the rapid democratization of pharmaceutical research,” said Brian Bonnell, vice president of strategic partnerships, Scientist.com.

“Researchers can now use their laptop computer to access almost all the research services they need to run an entire drug research program, from concept to clinic,” he told us.

Drug researchers are increasingly using RWE to evaluate potential treatment benefits and risks, in addition to HEOR to analyze health care treatments from the patient and provider perspective, Bonnell explained.

“But, it is difficult and expensive for researchers to find RWE/HEOR suppliers and access critical data,” he added. “This partnership will make it easier for researchers to identify and evaluate the best RWE/HEOR suppliers for their needs, and to purchase the data and services they need to speed up value-based healthcare decisions.”

Bonnell said the new platform will address the many challenges facing RWE/HEOR researchers.

“It will enable them to connect with pre-qualified RWE/HEOR suppliers worldwide, evaluate multiple options and then easily purchase the data and services they need without time-consuming legal and finance review,” he added. “Both companies are contributing critical expertise to the project.”
