Women have seen deficits and gains in their attempts to be included in clinical research, but as 2019 approaches equality seems forthcoming.

In the past 41 years, women's role in clinical research has been in flux. With guidelines from the Food and Drug Administration banning them from entering studies, to the National Institute of Health pushing for their inclusion, women are just now reaching parity. We laid out some of the most important years and data points of women's involvement in research.
