Chemspace and LabNetwork, both online marketplaces, are to collaborate to extend their global reach in the online marketplace.

Per the agreement, LabNetwork, a WuXi AppTec company based in China, will make its products available on Chemspace’s website while distribution and technical support for European customers will be provided by Chemspace, enabling LabNetwork’s marketplace to reach further.

WuXi’s LabNetwork was established in 2016 to provide pharmaceutical firms with a list of chemical suppliers to help drug manufacturers source more efficiently. LabNetwork also has four million commercially available discovery and research compounds.

US-based Chemspace’s free-of-charge database encompasses over 100m chemical building blocks, fragments and screening compounds all for purchase.

Yurii Moroz, CEO, Chemspace said in a statement, “The collaboration with LabNetwork will provide drug discovery scientists, medicinal chemists, and academic researchers access to a vast diversity of high-quality products. We see a lot of synergy in our companies combining forces both from a business perspective and also to improve availability of compounds to the research community.”

The online catalog provided through the online marketplace includes in-stock and make-on-demand molecules. According to the company, the marketplace has a range of filter options to increase searchability, including options to filter substructure, similarity, and text identifiers.

Moroz told us, that the collaboration will “increase availability of high-quality chemical building blocks and reagents available to Chemspace’s European customers.”

This is not the first collaboration for WuXi’s LabNetwork: In 2017 it entered a partnership with Reaxys to simplify customer purchasing decisions.
