BlueCloud follows the Uber model to streamline connections

BlueCloud by HealthCarePoint releases DDIT mechanisms to create an Uber-like service for the health care industry – connecting providers and consumers, such a sponsors and CROs.

BlueCloud, an independent network system for health care and clinical research created by HealthCarePoint, this week announced the addition of its delivery, distribution, implementation, and tracking (DDIT) mechanisms.

President of BlueCloud Al Pacino told us that the addition of the DDIT applications to its global system allows the collaborative network to operate like Uber: Connecting providers like investigative trial sites, to industry consumers such as sponsors and contract research organizations (CROs).

The network also added the DDIT mechanisms in an aim to “modernize the health care and clinical research ecosystem using basic business and compliance principles and modern technology models, by simply connecting industry consumers,” Pacino said. Each mechanism or application is designed to streamline a component of clinical research

The delivery and distribution mechanisms within the BlueCloud system enable consumers to find the products, services, and technologies needed for clinical research through authorized channels. It also provides patient maps to help locate potential clinical trial participants, among other applications and tools to help connect providers and consumers.

“Whenever the sponsors need to identify investigative sites for their clinical trial they should not have to pay for the list of investigative sites or the directories of thousands of professionals at the sites in order to do site screening and have site accessibility, it’s free to the sponsor as a consumer.

"Sponsors then use the BlueCloud DDIT on-demand mechanisms to properly identify the investigative sites that they’re going to choose for their clinical. Once they chose their sites, just like Uber once we chose our driver, sponsors are able to connect to their chosen sites immediately using their own BlueCloud system and perform site competencies, feasibility and other screening activities at no cost to the sponsor,” Pacino explained.

Additionally, a centralized global tracking system keeps tabs on regulatory compliance.
