UBC launches digital patient engagement platform
weLink – which United BioSource (UBC) is releasing at the 2019 DIA Global Annual Meeting next week – also can be used to find current research studies and enables sponsors to share plain language clinical trial results, according to United BioSource (UBC).
For researchers, the platform serves as an active participant database through which patients can be re-engaged and potentially recruited for future studies in addition to Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies (REMS), outcomes research, and market research.
Additionally, weLink allows sponsors to garner patient input to better understand the “benefit-risk calculations” patients make when considering participating in a clinical trial, according to the company.
UBC is among the contract research organizations (CROs) which in 2018 formed an industry standards group to improve clinical trial execution and collaboration among sponsors and CROs.
