Elligo expands research network with oncology center partnership
The health research organization, Elligo, will work with the Austin Cancer Center (ACC) to add its clinical research network,while ACC’s oncologists will offer research as a care option.
Mary Costello, VP of clinic development and patient advocacy at Elligo told us, “Most research starts at academic medical centers and standalone research dedicated practices. By partnering with health care providers in the community, Elligo helps extend access and expand the reach of the study itself.”
According to ACC, the partnership enables its patients to remain under its care while receiving opportunities to participate in clinical studies through Elligo’s Research Ready network. The network operates on its Goes Direct approach connecting patients and sites to research studies across the industry.
Costello said Elligo selected to work with physicians in Austin, TX, the 11th largest city in the US, “to allow cancer patients the opportunity to access clinical research in their own community, which increases the likelihood they will participate and extends the chance to participate to all patients, not just those fortunate enough to be able to travel outside of their community.”
ACC currently offers clinical care across medical oncology, comprehensive breast care and breast oncology, gynecologic oncology, radiation oncology, neuro-oncology, and diagnostic and interventional radiology specialties.
