Longboat Clinical’s new offering connects potential clinical trial participants with enrolling study sites and provides insights into online patient recruitment campaigns in real-time.

According to Aidan Gannon, head of client services and innovation at Longboat, the company frequently hears from its clients and contract research organization (CRO) partners that it is difficult to determine the success of online patient recruitment campaigns “due to the disconnect between the various steps in the process.”

And sites tell us that they receive referrals in many different ways, requiring additional systems and logins, and that tracking the status and outcome of each referral was cumbersome,” he said.

For these reasons, the Ireland-based clinical trials software company created Patient Connect.

The new offering provides study teams with direct oversight as well as data and metrics from each step of a patient recruitment campaign.

A vendor-agnostic solution, Patient Connect can be plugged into any online recruitment campaign, said Gannon, “to push referrals to a centralized dashboard, simplifying the process for site staff, while allowing study teams view the data on a site and study level.”

Prospective patients can self-screen for a study online and submit contact details to participating sites, which access referrals statuses via the Longboat dashboard, according to the company.
