Integrated platform targets trial performance

A partnership between two trial tech providers aims to create a more powerful, efficient and effective study solution for sites, sponsors and CROs.

Two clinical trial technology firms—Devana Solutions and BEKHealth—have agreed to integrate their platforms. The intention of the technological integration is to enable study teams to increase the reliability and predictability of their trial performance.

According to the companies, the partnership will result in an advanced platform that enable sites, sponsors and contract research organizations (CROs) to better align the correct study, the right sites and the most appropriate patients.

Jason Baumgartner, CEO of BEKHealth, said that combining use of data with advanced computing technology can increase site results and reliability.

The combination of a site’s historical performance data with a highly precise feasibility AI solution which can cover >90% of study criteria increases the reliability of site selection exponentially​,” said Baumgartner. “Historical performance is extremely valuable in predicting performance yet alone can lead to disparities and missed opportunities for customers to uncover new patient populations; with Devana’s IGNITE platform having taken off with the leading research organizations, we see this as a natural extension of our platform​.”

Barry Lake, CEO and co-founder of Devana Solutions, remarked that the two companies got together after multiple leaders in the clinical trial site sector introduced the two entities.

The prospect of combining BEKHealth’s platform with Devana IGNITE’s automation of site startup workflows and capture and analytics of trial performance metrics will be revolutionary for sponsors and CROs seeking predictability and reliability of trial and site performance​,” Lake commented.

After putting in place a joint commercialization agreement, representatives from BEKHealth and Devana Solutions have begun collaborating on client and prospect referrals for demonstrations of the systems for clinical trial stakeholders including site organizations, sponsors and CROs. At the same time, engineers reportedly have begun the work of integrating the platforms in advance of a projected rollout of the combined solution in Q4.  

Devana Solutions is a cloud Saas provider working to advance data transparency through technology to enabling the selection of top-performing research sites that align with sponsors and CROs, in order to reduce clinical trial cycle time and costs. Its three platforms (Ignite, Propel and IQ) are geared toward providing historical and real-time data capture, aggregation and display to drug development stakeholders.

BEKHealth’s platform offers AI solutions to comprehensively review patient medical histories, automatically match patients to complex trial protocols, and help sites recruit more patients in less time.
