Keep APIs amorphous and stable with Neusilin® -The Specialty Excipient
Neusilin® is synthetic Magnesium Aluminometasilicate manufactured through spray-drying process. It is widely used in pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications as a problem solving excipient. Neusilin® is amorphous and has spherical and highly porous structure that gives excellent flowability and compressibility as well as superior oil adsorption capacity. Some commercial success examples validate that oily actives can be converted into free flowing powder through adsorption onto Neusilin® and formulated to capsules or tablets.
Neusilin® is also used as an excellent adsorbent carrier for preparation of solid SEDDS (Self Emulsifying Drug Delivery Systems) as well as solid dispersion via hot melt granulation and hot melt extrusion, intended to improve dissolution profile of poorly water soluble drugs. Neusilin®‘s ability to maintain amorphous state of APIs has been demonstrated in several publications.
Fujicalin® - The ultimate Dibasic Calcium Phosphate Anhydrous (DCPA)
Fujicalin® is spray-dried Dibasic Calcium Phosphate Anhydrous designed to function as direct compression excipient. Fujicalin® has unique property and shows superior performance over conventional DCPAs. Fujicalin® is used in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical applications including preparation of probiotic formulation.
With Fujicalin®, probiotics tablets can be produced by direct compression at low compression forces which leads to increasing cell viability. Its card-house structure can entrap bacteria within and protect the cells against harsh conditions during tableting and in the stomach. Commercially available probiotic products of Fujicalin® can be stored at room temperature with shelf life up to 3 years using normal bottle packaging.
Fujicalin® is an ideal carrier for self-emulsifying drug delivery system (SEDDS), liquisolid system, as well as hot melt extrusion to improve tablet properties and bioavailability of poorly water soluble drugs.
F-MELT®- High Performance Excipient for Oral Disintegration Tablets
F-MELT® is a co-spray dried powder, composed of carbohydrates, disintegrant and inorganic excipient for oral disintegrating tablets (ODTs).
F-MELT® is preferred due to its high compressibility, fast disintegration property, and pleasant mouth feel. Other important parameters include low friability, high API loading capability, and stability. An ODT can be manufactured by simple blending of API with F-MELT® and lubricant using conventional tabletting equipment. The additional advantages are considerably less development time and no license or royalty fees are required.
Backed by market trends, the number of ODT products that F-MELT® is formulated into has been increasing.
