‘Orders are booming’ for preclinical imaging company, MR Solutions
MR Solutions develops and manufactures a range of commercial superconducting, cryogen-free, benchtop MRI systems for preclinical imaging. The company’s technology is used pharmaceutical companies to advance translational research.
UK sales manager, Richard Taylor previously told us the technology enables pharmaceutical companies to conduct translational research more economically and to take these results to the clinical market.
“We have grown the company rapidly over the last few years and it was necessary to split the activities so that we continue to grow and deliver excellent service to our clients,” David Taylor chairman of the holding company MR Solutions Group and CEO of MRR Systems Ltd., the division created to support the company’s spectrometer sales and OEM assembly division.
As part of the reorganization, Taylor will remain as the executive chairman of the group, but will run the MRR Systems Ltd on a daily basis to increase sales of the company’s spectrometers for use within other manufacturers’ MRI technology. He also runs what he said is an “increasingly important part of our business,” in which the company reconditions older MRI systems.
As the new CEO of MR Solutions, the division developing and supplying preclinical imaging systems, Nicky Doughty told us she will continue the business expansion of the company’s cryogen-free systems business.
“Our orders are booming and it is vital that we have in place a team which is solely focused on delivering these groundbreaking scanners on time and with a comprehensive back up service,” she said.
MRS Magnetics
The company has also established a new division to manufacture and supply magnetics and gradient coils. Theo Becker and Chris Cirel will manage the division, MRS Magnetics Ltd., which is based in Abingdon near Oxford.
“With the rapid expansion of the systems business MR Solutions decided to bring the main production line of these superconducting magnets in house,” Becker told us.
Becker explained he established a production line at the company’s new Abingdon plant “in only a few months.”
Working closely with Becker, Cirel told us the two will “ensure that there is a seamless flow of innovation across production and support.”
“MR Solutions is driven by innovation and it is up to me and my team to keep up an ongoing stream of new developments to maintain our technological leadership,” he added.
