Tripos has announced the release of the latest version of its
visualisation platform that allows laboratory scientists to make
better informed decisions based on the three-dimensional molecular
information it produces.

The platform aims to further expand the representation of chemical structures and molecular interactions, as well as workflow enhancements, enables users in the drug discovery industry to quickly and easily reach key decisions.

Benchware 3D Explorer 2.2 allows the visualisation, annotation, sharing and experimenting with 3-D chemical structural information as well the results of computational research.

One of the enhancements of the Benchware 3D Explorer is its VBA scripting environment, which is now included as standard. This feature allows power users to create and deploy task-specific applications throughout the organisation.

Benchware 3D Explorer now supports visualisation of pharmacophore models and 3-D molecular queries, improving the communication and analysis of vital structural information over all types of discovery projects.

"We place a great deal of importance on our ability to visualise and understand the chemistries we are exploring," said Philippe Guedat, head of chemistry at Hybrigenics, a pathway-based drug discovery company.

"Benchware 3D Explorer's graphics, molecular editing functionality and communication capabilities allow us to make better use of the information produced within our own drug discovery programs and arising from our high-throughput screening activity," he added.
