Two companies have gone a step further to capture a bigger chunk of
the budding eClinical market by offering a new integrated solution
for pharma companies who continue to move away from paper toward
electronic reporting in clinical trials.

TrialStat and Clinical Force have teamed up to offer integrated electronic data capture (EDC) and clinical trial management systems (CTMS) solutions to European and North American contract research organisations (CROs) and pharma companies.

TrialStat, a clinical data management on-demand company, will provide its Clinical Analytics technology, which enables researchers to collect and manage study data more quickly, accurately and cost effectively than traditional EDC software.

Meanwhile, what Clinical Force brings to the deal is its CTMS solution to manage clinical trials processes and data.

The use of eClinical software in clinical trials is gaining in popularity with pharmaceutical, biotechnology and contract research organisations (CROs), as these firms seek to streamline and speed up the currently cumbersome, costly and largely manual paper-based clinical trials process.

The two companies will offer a service that will link together their respective software through a common interface. In addition, they will jointly market their products and services.

"Our customers are telling us that they want CTMS and EDC in a single, integrated solution," said Jonathan Barker, TrialStat's president and CEO.

"We believe that Clinical Force offers a best-of-breed CTMS product that will integrate with ClinicalAnalytics to give our customers exactly what they have been asking for."

He added that CTMS integration is the next logical step in delivering a comprehensive solution for pharma and biotech companies.

"This agreement breaks new ground for our industry, in providing through the Web, an on demand integrated clinical trial management solution, significantly improving speed, efficiency and quality in the management and delivery of clinical trials," added Marcus Thornton, Clinical Force CEO.

TrialStat and Clinical Force have begun integrating their applications and anticipate the availability of a jointly delivered solution this spring.

TrialStat's Clinical Analytics platform integrates the web and flexible data capture technologies, including image-based forms and handheld devices. It is the first EDC platform to allow all aspects of the study to be configured, deployed and managed through a browser-based interface, which enables customers to deploy studies in a matter of days, the company said in a statement.

Clinical Force's CTMS solution provides everything needed to successfully manage clinical trials, including Study Management, Site and Subject Tracking, Visit Report Authoring, Investigator Database, Payments, Time and Expenses and many others. In addition, the firm said that the solution can be deployed "out of the box" or customized to support client specific processes.
