Sandoz recalling leaking Temozolomide capsules

Related tags Illness

Sandoz is conducting a UK patient level recall of certain batches of Temozolomide capsules after they were found to be splitting and leaking powder.

An alert related to Temozolomide Hospira Capsules was issued last week, prompting further investigations. This established that there are reports of the Sandoz capsules splitting and leaking powder.

The UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has issued a drug alert to healthcare professionals informing them of the recall. Pharmacists and clinics have been asked to contact patients and request the return of the medicines.

Covered by the recall are nine patches of varying strengths which were distributed in June.
