Interactive map shows cancer burden on CEE

Central and Eastern Europeans face, with some exceptions, a higher cancer mortality risk than their western European counterparts.

As the map below shows, residents of several countries in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) face a much higher cumulative cancer risks than those in the west. For example, the cumulative lung cancer risk in Hungary is 5.53, compared to 1.92 in Portugal.
