Outsourcing-Pharma presents its weekly round-up of the latest appointments within the pharmaceutical industry, including news from Patheon, Cetero and Roche.

Roche has promoted Sophie Kornowski-Bonnet to head of partnering.

Kornowski-Bonnet, who is currently the general manager of Roche France, will also join the firm’s corporate executive committee.

She first joined the business in 2007.

Severin Schwan, CEO of the Roche Group, said: “By running our French Pharma affiliate for the last five years Sophie has made tremendous contributions not only to the business but also to the development of a strong R&D hub in France.”

Patheon has appointed Michel Lagarde to its board of directors.

He will replace Thomas Taylor. Respectively they are principle and managing director of JLL Partners.

Lagarde will also take up the role of chairman of the CDMO (contract development and manufacturing services) company’s compensation and human resources committee.

Furthermore, he will become a member of Patheon's audit and corporate governance committees.

Cetero Research has named two new members of its senior management team in Michael Fillios and David Coggin.

The contract research organisation (CRO) – who earlier this year came under the FDA magnifying glass when the board accused staff at the firm’s Houston lab of falsifying information – says the new hires will help “realign infrastructure”.

Fillios, who will become chief administrative officer, will take responsibility for human resources, IT, project management and marketing and client services.

New VP of Biometrics Coggin will oversee the operational management of PK/PD, data management, biostatistics and medical writing services.

“Both of these accomplished leaders will help us realign infrastructure and integrate service offerings to meet the evolving needs of our customers,” said CEO Troy McCall.

Richard Koenig has joined ClinStar as VP of operations.

He joins the Eastern Europe and Russia focused CRO from INC Research, where he was an executive director responsible for the relationship management of key sponsors.

In his new role, Koenig will take charge of project resourcing, project financial management and the development/maintenance of key project metrics.

ClinStar president and CEO, David Passov, said: “Richard's joining ClinStar marks an important milestone in the evolution of our company.”

Agilent Technologies has hired Gooi Soon Chai as senior VP, order fulfillment and supply chain.

Gooi will lead a new, centralized organization created to help Agilent focus on manufacturing, procurement and logistics across the company's three business groups: life sciences, chemical analysis and electronic measurement.

“Agilent has enjoyed tremendous success from the strength of its three businesses,” said Ron Nersesian, chief operating officer.

“And now we're building upon that with our ability to leverage Agilent's global purchasing power and infrastructure.”
