OmniComm Partners with Clinverse to Offer Payment Tool as Part of EDC

OmniComm Systems and Clinverse have partnered to combine OmniComm’s EDC system with Clinverse’s automated payment tool.

When integrated with OmniComm’s TrialMaster EDC (electronic data capture), sponsors and CROs (contract research organizations) will be able to ensure that accurate financial transaction data feeds are automatically routed through the appropriate channels to pay clinical investigators under the contract terms.

Kuno van der Post, SVP of business development at OmniComm, told, “When we’re talking to sites, their two biggest gripes are having lots of EDC systems that aren’t intuitive and not being paid on time.”

Sponsors looking to establish better relationships with trial sites are beginning to turn to automated payment tools from companies like Clinverse and Greenphire.

Van der Post said the ClinPay System offers current and prospective clients the opportunity to begin the shift away from large in-house CTMS (clinical trial management system) systems to a more lightweight ones.

ClinPay is an accounting system that can automate payments and help sponsors and CROs “move to a completely web-enabled system,” van der Post said. He noted more companies are looking to outsource their clinical IT components, especially larger companies looking for more versatility.

Steve Ayala, president of Clinverse, also told, “Both of our sales organizations are completely integrated” and understand each other’s value propositions.

Clinverse’s open application programming interface allows for seamless integration with existing systems, such as OmniComm’s EDC system, as well as other external eclinical data sources, such as CTMS, IxRS, ERP systems, and data warehouses.

As far as how OmniComm’s can begin to implement the ClinPay tool, van der Post said OmniComm has already initiated conversations with numerous clients that can access it via the web-based cloud.

Anyone who wants this on a study-by-study or term basis can set up the interface and they’ll see the seamless operation,” he said.
