IMA gears up for Achema
booked more than 1,100 square metres of space at this year's
Achema, determined to push its products ranging from solid dose
processing to labelling and tube filling.
In the field of aseptic filling, IMA will be unveiling its M.A.C. Modular Aseptic Compact System, a compact and single unit that handles the complete process of washing, depyrogenizing, filling, closing and capping.
The product meets all stringent US Food and Drug (FDA) and European Medicines Agency (EMEA) regulations, cutting risks and ensuring repeatability and cost reductions.
In solid dose processing, on show for the first time will be the new Vortex Plus high shear mixer granulator for both wet and single-pot granulation, the new Hermetica capsule banding machine for tamper evident sealing of capsules and the new Kilian Synthesis WIP tablet press with Wash In Place system.
In the area of blister packaging, on the other hand, IMA will demonstrate its new Giant1 integrated blister line, an effective alternative for just-in-time production of small and medium batches up to 350 blisters per minute.
On Giant1 the changeover time reaches unprecedented levels due to reduced number of size parts and their light-weight - no more than 9 kg.
IMA claims that in the time it takes to changeover any super-high speed machine, the Giant1 will have already completed 3 or more batches.
Giant1 also ensures that rejected faulty blisters cannot be matched in further packaging process due to their different shape.
IMA also has a presence in the area of freeze drying and will be showing off its the GMP production freeze-drying unit LyoMega 80 ST, which has a 6.5-square-metre loading surface and 140kg ice condenser capacity and is equipped with CIP/SIP, automatic door locking, hydraulic vial stoppering and LyoStar SCADA control system.
On display will also be Sensitive ECO, a completely automatic labelling machine suitable for applying self-adhesive labels on vials or bottles, with a capacity of up to 150 vials per minute.
Finally IMA will display CO.MA.DI.S., the C1090 tube filling machine with a stainless steel structure and a new type of automatic robotised empty tube feeder that can fill up to 90 tubes per minute.
