Appointments at Pfizer and Novo Nordisk – People on the move
Freda Lewis-Hall has joined Pfizer as the company’s chief medical officer. In this capacity Lewis-Hall will be responsible for areas including patient safety, regulatory affairs and quality assurance.
Lewis-Hall joins Pfizer from Vertex Pharmaceuticals where she was responsible for clinical and non-clinical development as well as both medical and regulatory affairs.
Prior to joining Vertex Lewis-Hall worked at companies including Bristol-Myers Squibb, Pharmacia and Eli Lilly.
Novo Nordisk has revamped its Near East management team with two appointments. Şebnem Uslu Şenoldu has been promoted to production manager of Novo’s Near East Biopharma Unit, having spent seven years at the company.
In addition Novo has appointed Asude Ademoğulları as its clinical operations manager for the Near East. Ademoğulları has worked at Novo since 2002, most recently as the head of the clinical research department in Turkey.
Eurand has appointed Robert Becker to the newly created post of chief research officer of Eurand SpA. Becker will be based at the company’s Milan, Italy office from where he will oversee global all research and formulation development activities.
Prior to joining Eurand worked at Biogen Idec as senior director, small molecule development international. He has over 25 years experience in the pharma industry at companies including Eli Lilly and Boehringer Ingelheim.
HRA Pharma has promoted Erin Gainer to the post of CEO. Gainer has worked at HRA since 2000 and joined its board in 2007.
Her most recent role was as executive director of research and development, which saw her move ulipristal acetate, HRA’s lead product candidate, towards commercialisation.
