Sanofi
Sanofi has created a new position, Chief Patient Officer, and appointed Anne C. Beal, the deputy Executive Director of the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) in the US.
At PCORI, where she doubled up as Chief Officer for Engagement, Beal was responsible for reflecting patients’ and other stakeholders’ views in the institute’s research portfolio.
At Sanofi, Beal will be in charge of incorporating patient and caregiver needs into drug development, from the R&D stage to market availability.
Beal said she would “advocate for patient access to high quality care” in her role.
Sanofi recently partnered with UCB to search for novel small molecule drugs to replace biologics in the treatment of immune diseases.
