After launching its eResearch solution earlier this year, WCG announces a pre-configured version to help smaller clinical trial sites manage research and attract additional opportunities.

The clinical services division of the WIRB-Copernicus Group (WCG) has launched Velos eResearch eXpress, a cloud-based solution that centralizes and manages clinical research site activity on a single, automated technology platform.

The clinical trial management system (CTMS) was designed for smaller institutions and independent sites and is available via subscription-based pricing, according to the company.

“A clinical research site’s ability to attract new studies is fundamental to its viability as a business,” said Donald Deieso, PhD, executive chairman and CEO of WCG.

“Because biopharmaceutical companies and contract research organizations (CROs) use data on past performance to evaluate which sites to select for participation in upcoming trials, sites must continuously perform a careful ‘two-step’: efficiently managing existing research while positioning themselves to attract additional research opportunities,” he said in a statement.

Velos eResearch eXpress is a pre-configured version of Velos eResearch, and is part of the company’s fully-integrated, end-to-end solution, SiteReady, which WCG launched earlier this year.

SiteReady features a set of services including clinical trial management system (CTMS) and electronic institutional review board (eIRB) management, as well as budget optimization, contract execution, and ethical review. It also includes site-specific recruitment and enrollment services and technology.

WCG President of independent sites Sean Walsh, MBA, ACHE, told us at the time that the new offering will support research sites by providing greater access to study opportunities and sponsor connections. General and site-specific performance benchmarking data are also made available.

Additionally, WCG last month acquired PharmaSeek and its wholly-owned subsidiaries PFS Clinical and PatientWise, which provide administrative, consulting, patient recruitment, and training solutions for clinical research sites.
