WIRB-Copernicus Group (WCG), a provider of regulatory and ethical review services for contract research organisations (CROs), has appointed David Borasky as vice president of quality management for the Copernicus Group Independent Review Board.
“David has extensive experience ensuring that clinical studies adhere to global regulations and policies governing human research,” said WCG Chairman & CEO Donald Deieso “He has also consulted for a broad range of institutions, including the US Office for Human Research Protections, World Health Organization, and US Agency for International Development.”
In his new role, Borasky will be responsible for creating and implementing compliance and ethical conduct standards for clinical research. He will also make sure the Copernicus Group Independent Review Board complies with federal and state laws and accreditation standards.

Borasky has more than 15 years’ experience developing institutional review boards (IRBs) and human research protection programs. He previously served as deputy director in the Office of Human Research Ethics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and as IRB manager in the Office for Research Protections at RTI International, advising the director on issues relating to institutional policy and regulatory compliance.
